Chapada Solidarity is a network of community institutions and volunteers from Chapada dos Veadeiros that have combined their efforts and knowledge to overcome local challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Promoting a civil society through a transparent, broad and organized manner, Chapada Solidarity is raising funds to distribute food, hygiene products, and protective health equipment to the Alto Paraíso de Goiás Community and its surroundings.
By distributing basic food baskets and local organic food, we are taking immediate action to guarantee food security to our most vulnerable, as well as supporting the sustainability of the local economy in these difficult times. In addition to food, we are working to provide products for hygiene, protective health equipment and preventative awareness.
How does this campaign work?

To date, 150 of these baskets have been distributed.
The situation is getting worse every day, and we are counting on your generosity to expand our actions and support more families.

Products in the Solidarity Basket
The baskets provided by this campaign emphasis fresh, local vegetables and fruits to raise the dignity of our recipients beyond mere subsistence.
For this reason: R$50,00 are invested in local organic products from Alto Paraíso such as greens, vegetables and fruits, and R$70,00 are spent on non-perishable food and cleaning products for hygiene.
Total expenses per basket: R$120,00
Tourism is the basis of the local economy in the Chapada dos Veadeiros region and it has been completely disrupted by the public health crisis caused by this pandemic. This economic disruption has challenged the ability of thousands of residents to provide the necessary income for survival.
It is estimated that, in Alto Paraíso de Goiás, about 2,500 people are already in a situation of social vulnerability and face difficulties in accessing basic items such as food, hygiene and health products.
In every ten families living on the outskirts, seven have already had their income reduced due to the crisis caused by the coronavirus.
